Size guide

Our pieces are Italian, and Italian clothing comes up smaller than French clothing. An Italian 40 corresponds to a French 36, in other words a size S. On a pair of jeans, the difference is felt straight away: take the time to check before ordering.

Some styles go down to 3XS or up beyond XL: the sizes actually available are shown on the product page. A few knits are offered in one size.

This conversion is a guide, not a rule. The same size does not wear the same way in a rigid raw denim and in a washed denim that has already given.

Denim, a special case

Raw denim does not stretch, or only very slightly. It must fit snugly from the first try-on. If it is tight in the fitting room, it will still be tight in six months.

Stretch denim gives by half a size with wear, usually at the waist and knees. If it fits perfectly at the first try-on, it will be a little loose after a few days. If in doubt, take the size below.

On wide cuts (balloon, wide leg, palazzo), the size is determined at the waistband, not at the thigh. The volume of the leg is drawn into the pattern; it does not depend on your figure.

How to take your measurements

Measure yourself in your underwear, with the tape measure flat against the body, without pulling it tight or holding your stomach in. Get someone to help you if you can: measurements taken on yourself are often inaccurate.

Waist: at the natural hollow, just above the navel. This is the measurement that decides the size of a pair of jeans.
Hips: at the widest point, about twenty centimetres below the waist.
Bust: at the fullest point, with the tape measure level across the back.
Inside leg: from the crotch to the bottom of the hem, along the inner leg. This is the usable length of a pair of trousers.
Rise: from the crotch to the waistband. This is what determines whether a pair of jeans is high-rise, regular or low-rise.

Between two sizes

On jeans in rigid denim, take the size above: a gaping waistband can be taken in, a waistband that is too tight cannot be put right.

On stretch jeans, take the size below.

On a knit or a loose shirt, take your usual size: the volume is part of the piece's design.

A regular rise, a very wide leg

Five-pocket jeans with a regular rise: the waistband sits at the natural waist, neither high nor low, and leaves the silhouette free. Below the hip, the leg opens out decisively and falls straight to the floor. Button fastening, two front pockets with coin pocket, two back pockets.

The widest in the collection

27 cm leg opening, i.e. 54 cm all round at the hem. And 102 cm outside leg length: the jeans cover the shoe and skim the floor. It is this combination that creates the effect, a column of denim that falls in a single line, with no break or narrowing.

A soft denim

Medium blue denim, washed in places: on the thighs, at the crotch, along the seams. The fabric is particularly soft to the touch: it has the structure of a canvas but drapes almost like a fluid fabric, which explains the movement of the leg.

What you need to know about sizing

This style comes up large. Two ways to wear it, the choice is yours:

Take your usual size and the jeans are worn as a relaxed fit, loose over the hips as well as the leg. Go down a size and you get a standard fit at the waist, while keeping all the volume below.

Fabric and weave

98% cotton, 2% elastane. The 2% elastane is enough to give ease without turning the denim into jersey: the canvas keeps its grain, its body and its jeans drape.

Machine washable.

Wear with

A short or tucked-in top: with a regular rise and such a wide leg, it is the length of the torso that creates balance. Trainers for the day, flat-heeled ankle boots the rest of the time; the 102 cm length is calculated to cover the shoe.
